Fred Arocho is no longer a presenter at Radio Jambo.
The presenter disclosed on March 29, 2023 that he will be joining the newly formed Radio 47, an upcoming radio station affiliated with TV47.
The Muthaiga-based radio station has already lured several presenters from Milele and Radio Maisha FM including Hassan Mwana wa Ali, Beatrice Maganga, Mbaruk Mwalimu, Lynda Oriaso, Geoffrey Mung’ou, Irene Kaimuri, Emmanuel Mwashumbe, Eric Wambugu, Billy Miya, and Evah Mwalili among others.

If you are a true football fan and you listen to Radio Jambo, especially the football analysis show, there is a high possibility that the name Fred Arocho rings a bell in your mind.
Fred has played for some of the well-known football clubs in the country, such as Sony Sugar FC and KCB FC as a defender.
He was among the starting eleven team of Kenya’s under-20 in 1994 and represented the country in the East and Central Africa youth tournament held in Mombasa in 1995.
His Career in Radio
After retiring from the game as a player, Arocho continued to attend all Harambee Stars matches.
Fortunately, his life changed for the better after meeting Carol Radull (she was Radio Jambo’s controller at the time) and impressed her, thanks to his amazing voice and vast knowledge of football matters.
After passing the station’s voice test, he was able to secure a job as a football host at Radio Jambo in 2009, and since then, his star has continued to shine.

He also earns an extra income by appearing as a guest football analyst on various TV stations.
