HGTV’s My Lottery Dream Home host and interior designer, David Reed Bromstad has been missing on social media, and more than a million of his social media fans, especially on Facebook and Instagram, can’t help but worry that he might not be okay.
But could there be some truth in it? Is David Bromstad sick?
David himself hasn’t come out to say anything about him being sick, and we also cannot get such confirmation from any reliable source.
So, as far as we understand, David Bromstad is not sick. He has been busy with a few things, and we’ll share the details in a moment.
But before we do, let’s help you understand why there is so much fuss about him being sick.
Why Is There So Much Fuss About David Bromstad Being Sick?
It was back in 2006 when passionate Minnesota-born interior designer David Bromstad moved to Miami to try out as a host for HGTV’s new reality TV show, Design Star. Little did he know that it could be the turning point of his career.
Bromstad won the competition and was invited to host it the following day alongside another reality TV series, Color Splash. Color Splash, televised between 2007 and 2012, is a reality TV show where David helps homeowners transform their ugly spaces into masterpieces using colors.
Since Color Splash, he has become a fan’s favorite, drawing over a million followers on social media, especially Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
In 2015, Bromstad started another show on HGTV, My Lottery Dream Home, where he helps lottery winners find their dream homes. Most of My Lottery Dream Home’s fans are always waiting for a new season to see how things turn out for the lottery winners.
Other than hosting My Lottery Dream Home and Color Splash, the 50-year-old has featured in so many reality programs such as Rock the Block, Bung for Your Buck, Showdown (where he appears as a judge), Brother vs Brother Season 3 and 4, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, among many others.
While David isn’t so deep into social media, he occasionally posts something, especially about his work, and when he went silent in 2023 for a few months, most of his fans were worried. Some even thought he could be sick, which we have no evidence of.
What Has David Bromstad Been Up to Lately?
Bromstad took time off social media to concentrate on work and travel.
Concerning work, David has been busy working on Season 14 of My Lottery Dream Home, which will see a retired couple with a $2M budget seek David’s help to hunt for their dream home in Richmond, Virginia.
Concerning travelling, David likes to travel the world, especially Europe. He confessed to Passport Magazine that he visits Europe once a year, and his favorite destinations are Amsterdam, Mykonos, and Barcelona.
As we’ve seen, David Bromstad is not sick, and his reasons for being away from social media are work and travel.
Hopefully, he’ll shed more light on his most recent adventure to help dispel any unfounded rumors and gossip about his whereabouts or health status.
