Does Molly Tuttle Have Cancer? Rumors Put to Rest

Molly Tuttle is a pretty big name in the American entertainment industry.

She is a celebrated singer and songwriter with great accolades.

She’s also famous for her extraordinary skills and playing the banjo in the bluegrass tradition.

She can do flatpicking, crosspicking, and clawhammer of the guitar.

She’s won a few other titles over the years for her skill.

However, one thing is concerning about the successful singer: She doesn’t have any hair on her head. She always puts on wigs raising concerns about her having cancer.

Does the star have cancer?

No Cancer

Molly Tuttle, thankfully doesn’t have cancer. Her lack of hair stems from an autoimmune skin disease called alopecia areata.

The pretty rare condition affects the scalp or the entire body causing hair loss.

Experts believe that the disorder is genetic as it mostly runs in families. Alopecia causes hair loss in patches affecting wider areas of the scalp.

The musician was diagnosed with the disorder when she was only three years old.

She wrote about her journey with the disorder on her official website mollytuttlemusic.com.

According to the post, the singer has had to deal with the effects of alopecia since her third year of life.

Within the first year of being diagnosed with alopecia, Tuttle claims that the condition progressed to its rare form, alopecia universalis which refers to total body hair loss.

This just means that she lost all the hair in her body. She’s had to wear wigs since she was a teenager.

Now, she is comfortable going to public places without her wig.

So, her lack of hair is not due to cancer treatments.

Raising Awareness

Although Molly Tuttle has had alopecia areata for more than two decades, she has chosen to create something good from it.

She’s gone the extra mile by using her platform to raise awareness for the disorder.

The singer claims that playing at the 2017 National Alopecia Areata Foundation is her best gig.

The foundation focuses on people living with alopecia and strives to make them feel accepted, comfortable, and happy.

Tuttle actively engages with her fans on social media pages during the annual Alopecia Awareness Month as well as International Alopecia Day.

She sheds light on the challenges faced by people living with the disease.

Her efforts have made significant contributions to the acceptance and understanding of alopecia in her community and beyond.

No doubt, Tuttle serves as a beacon of hope. She shows others that beauty transcends physical appearance.

Besides alopecia, Molly Tuttle has been candid about her struggles with stage fright and anxiety. Alopecia exacerbated these challenges by complicating her journey further.

Despite the hardships, the guitarist continues to follow her passion for music inspiring others to overcome their anxieties.
