Anyone who has ever been to Tennessee, Memphis in the last 4 decades knows the Ford political family.

After all, Harold Ford Sr. served as their congressman for about 22 years.

After he retired, his son, Harold Ford Jr. took over the seat. The former American Congressman held the seat for a decade (1997 to 2007).

He even vied for the Senate seat of Tennessee after Bill Frist retired, but he was defeated by Bob Corker.

Harold has even written a book on his take on the political future of America, More Davids than Goliaths: A Political Education, but after his unsuccessful bid for the Senate seat in 2007, he has stayed away from politics.

The Ford political family has done a lot for Tennessee, which has forced us to look into the whereabouts of Harold Ford Jr. who had the same political ambitions as his dad.

Where Is Ford Jr. Right Now?

Ford Jr. married Threlkeld Emily, back in 2008 after his unsuccessful U.S. Senate bid in New York where he currently resides.

The couple was blessed with two kids, Harold Eugene III and Georgia Walker, who they raised in New York City.

The couple still lives in their Chelsea Pad at 161 West 15th Street, a house they purchased back in 2011.

Is Harold Still a Congressman?

No, after 2007, he resigned from politics and focused on other ventures.

There were rumors of him running for the Senate seat in 2008, but he didn’t add his name to the polls.

He wrote a book, More Davids Than Goliaths: A Political Education in 2010.

Currently, he is a political pundit and financial managing director.

Ford Jr. has lived in New York City for a decade and worked in the financial industry. He became the vice chairman of PNC Financial Services’ Corporate & Institutional Banking sector in 2020 and holds the seat to date.

His roles include cultivating senior client relationships in all the company’s sectors while helping develop new business.

Before joining PNC Financial Services, he was the managing director of Morgan Stanley (2011 to 2017).

After leaving Morgan Stanley Morgan, he was Live Oak Acquisition Corporation’s director.

Ford Jr. Joined Fox News

Fox News announced that the former congressman would become their new political contributor back in April 2021.

Fox News described him as an exceptional contributor who could bring business and government experience to the channel.

Ford Jr. serves as the panel member of “Special Report.”

His experience as a pundit who appeared on various programs on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, and NBC made him the best candidate for the job.

And by January 2022, Fox News made him one of the hosts of “The Five.”

Does He Plan on Becoming a Senator in Future?

After the 2008 loss, Harold resigned from politics and focused on his career as a financial manager.

When asked about going back to politics and serving his people, he said that he was willing to work with Governor Bredesen.

Instead, he focused on teaching while developing a new career path for himself.

He even relocated and developed his career in New York City as a financial manager and political pundit.

He has stayed away from politics for over 15 years and we don’t see him going back to Memphis and becoming their senator.

Plus, he hasn’t hinted this to anyone as he is comfortable and happy as Fox News pundit and the vice president of PNC’s.
