St Mulumba Maternity Department

The maternity department at St Mulumba provides several services including pregnancy care, delivery, and postnatal care to expectant mothers.

The expectant mothers are given options to choose from during delivery, the options are: using a midwife or a gynecologist.

Each of these plans are charged differently. Accommodation is also offered in different categories where there are 19 private rooms, 6 semi-private rooms, and a general ward.

There are however some services that are not offered at the maternity department such as treatment of preexisting illnesses, labor-inducing treatment, and vaccination using vaccines that are not included in the KEPI regime.

Complications that occur during delivery are also referred to other level 5 facilities as the hospital is not equipped to handle such cases.

This however should not be a deterrent as there are ambulances on standby and level 5 hospitals are within the vicinity.

In terms of staff, the hospital has highly qualified obstetricians, gynecologists, anesthetists, general physicians, and nurses.

This team is dedicated to ensuring that quality normal and cesarean deliveries are conducted in the safest way possible.
