Get To Know the Current Nation FM Presenters

The prevalence of social media has consistently promoted the notion that the end of mainstream media is quickly approaching.

This impression, however, has been proven to be nothing but mere hearsay as mainstream media, especially radio, continue to blossom.

Radio’s continued success is due to the ability to adapt and integrate social media into their content.

The current crop of radio presenters has also contributed highly towards the industry remaining relevant.

One such radio station in Kenya is Nation FM which was launched way back in 2002 by the Nation Media Group (NMG) as Easy FM.

The primarily English station has been home to some of the most prominent media personalities, such as Cess Mutungi, Sheilla Mwanyigah, and Carol Radull, just to mention a few.

Who are the current presenters that keep us tuning in to Nation FM?

Mariam Bishar

For a station that has provided a platform for female presenters to shine, it is fitting to begin this list with the bubbly and passionate Mariam Bashar.

The beautiful lass hosts The Morning Fix show alongside one David Oyuke.

The show mainly features hot topics and gossip and is accompanied by good music to kick-start the day.

Mariam has vast experience in the media industry from her days at Lit360 and The Trend on NTV.

David Oyuke

The Morning Fix show indeed lacks nothing, as David complements Mariam in every way to make the show as entertaining as ever.

The presenter’s charisma and lighthearted nature are a perfect fit for keeping his huge following entertained throughout the morning.

Oyuke’s talent extends beyond radio, as he is also a renowned poet and award-winning voice artist.

Antony Nduva Muli

Antony hosts the Nation FM drive, the most engaging and entertaining show where various issues are discussed, from politics to entertainment.

James Wokabi

Sports enthusiast Carol Radull’s shoes are obviously too big for anyone to fill, but James Wokabi appears to be handling the challenge well alongside his cohost Bernard Ndong.

The ever Jovial media personality was poached from rivals, Capital FM, after 18 years at the broadcaster.

His vast knowledge in sports made NMG trust him to pioneer their sports show, Sport On.

Before his stint on radio, Wokabi worked for the Standard Newspaper and The People’s Daily.

Bernard Ndong

Bernard is another popular sports media personality recently poached by the NMG.

The sportscaster built his name as a sports presenter for rival media house Royal Media Services.

During his time at RMS, he hosted a sports show and anchored sports news for Citizen TV.

The former Daystar University journalism graduate now cohosts The Sport On show.

Tess Libanze Waka

Tess is a seasoned radio personality who has a long history working in the Christian media industry.

The religious presenter has immense knowledge of matters of Christianity.

The radio preacher is passionate about engaging fans for on-air evangelism and hosts the Nation FM Gospel show.

Fans can catch up with her for soul-cleansing gospel music and teachings every Sunday morning.

Sammy Gitahi

Sammy Gitahi hosts the Football Fix show every Sunday alongside James Wokabi, Elijah Ouko, Tedd Onyango and Hilda Cheptoo.

Gitahi describes himself as God-fearing and a football addict whose favorite football team is Manchester United.

The radio media industry is still popular in the Kenyan market. The industry offers lucrative job opportunities to the youth graduating with journalism degrees. The programs are very entertaining and informative. The current crop of presenters in the industry’s ability to adapt to current trends will ensure its survival for a long time.
