Being a woman is tough, sometimes.
You have to deal with hormonal imbalances as soon as you hit puberty, navigate menses as a young girl, and cope with pregnancy and giving birth.
Now, add that to chronic pain in your vulva and things go a notch higher.
This is the reality of some women in our world today.
The condition, called vulvodynia, causes intense pain in the vulva, vagina, and the entire genital area of a woman.
Symptoms include a burning sensation down there, itching, discomfort when resting or doing strenuous activities like biking, and painful intercourse.
Sometimes, one feels pain when wearing tight pants or just sitting.
Both famous and non-famous women have the condition. Some have spoken out about it while others have chosen to fight silently.
Here, we have a list of three celebrities with vulvodynia.
1. Giorgia Soleri
First on the list, we have the popular Italian model Girogia Soleri.
The A-lister is famous for her beautiful commercial and modeling photos which are all over her gram account.
Soleri is also known for being in a relationship with Damiano David who happens to be the lead singer of Maneskin Band.
Her Instagram account has over 789,000 followers making her a great social media star of her generation.
Giorgia Soleri has been quite open about her experience with vulvodynia.
She uses her platforms to talk about the condition as well as endometriosis.
She has spoken about the diagnosis of vulvodynia and her efforts in managing the symptoms.
The model claims that she’s suffered from the condition since she was 16 years old and couldn’t get a proper diagnosis until she was 24.
Luckily, now she’s managing the pain better.
2. Leire Orbe
Leire Orbe is not a very famous name in the American entertainment space.
However, she is well known in Spain as she’s starred in a number of film and theatre works there.
Some of the movies and shows she’s appeared in include Camila Huck (2022), Barre Librea (2020), and Como Conoci a la Chica de Ludisoft (2015).
The Spanish actress hasn’t publicly shared her experience with vulvoynia but Steeljawlinegum.com claims that she suffers from the horrible disease.
There isn’t much information about her struggle with it online as well.
Hopefully, Orbe will come out in the open about her experience with vulvodynia (or lack thereof) in the future so she can help other women with it.
3. Zosia Mamet
If you are an ardent fan of Parenthood, The Boy Downstairs, Girls, and Made Men, you probably know Zosia Mamet.
She is a beloved actress and musician from the United States.
Like Giorgia above, Mamet has been public about her struggle with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Although she hasn’t termed her condition as vulvodynia, her symptoms point to it.
She experiences symptoms such as intense vaginal pain during intercourse and extreme urinary frequency.
Vulvodynia is horrible, to say the least. It affects one’s life in so many negative ways.
The worst part is that medical experts haven’t found an effective solution for it yet.
We sure hope that as more celebrities share their experiences with the condition publicly, it will gain enough attention and perhaps a permanent cure.
