Why Is Theo Von Not On King And The Sting?

Theodor Capitani von Kurnatowski, professionally known as Theo Von started the King and the Sting podcast with his friend and former professional martial artist Brendan Schaub in 2018.

The podcast mainly focuses on responding to fan submissions, although most people believe that the hosts use the platform to roast each other.

Within four years, the show had built a massive following, becoming number one on the iTunes Podcast charts in the US on its debut.

However, on reaching 193 episodes in 2022, the show started experiencing a few changes, with Theo Von taking occasional breaks.

Chris D’Elia also joined as a third host, and the podcast was renamed King and the Sting and Wing.

The show was later renamed The Golden Hour on November 4, 2022, with Erik Griffin replacing Theo Von.

Although it did not come as a major surprise, many fans have been asking why Theo Von is leaving the podcast.

So, where is Theo Von going? Is there a possibility of him coming back to the show?

Why Is Theo Von not on the King and the Sting?

It is not clear why Theo Von is leaving the King and the Sting (currently The Golden Hour).

In August 2022, the renowned stand-up comedian, television host, YouTuber, podcaster, and actor released a video discussing the need to take a break from podcasting.

The video explained why he took numerous breaks from the show and let new hosts fill his space.

However, according to his fans, Theo Von is probably stepping back to focus on his already-established show, This Past Weekend.

Theo Von started This Past Weekend in December 2016, which is a storytelling show that he also uses to respond to voicemails from his fans.

With its 200th episode coming out in 2019, the podcast is probably a major hit, posing considerable competition to the King and the Sting.

Theo Von has also admitted in many YouTube clips that he needed time to focus on his podcast, something he missed when he was on The King and the Sting.

That means, while it is not clear whether or not he will come back as a guest host to the show, he now has enough time for his other projects.

It is also important to remember that Theo Von has already cemented his name in the entertainment industry, considering his global recognition in music, stand-up comedy, and on-screen performance.

The Future of the King and the Sting

With Theo Von out of the show, the next possible question fans are likely to ask is: For how long will the podcast exist?

Even after renaming the podcast officially to The Golden Hour, many fans still believe that Brendan Schaub is unable to run the show for long.

This is attributed to his complicated comedy skills since most people believe Schaub only became famous through his comedy buddies.

Others also believe that Schaub’s frequent dramas have made him the most hated man on the planet—according to Joe Rogan’s joke.

While the speculation may be true, loyal fans believe that Schaub will bring more new hosts to cheer up the show and keep it running.

Also, Theo Von’s departure does not mean he is forbidden from appearing on the show.

Being one of the founders, fans are likely to see him, even for a few minutes.

Therefore, while it is not clear what Theo is up to now, it is undoubtedly true that King and the Sting, now The Golden Hour, will run for more years to come.
