What is Kendrick Lamar IQ? The Real IQ of the King of L.A.

When it comes to lyrical prowess and intelligence, very few rappers have been compared to Kendrick Lamar.

After all, he is the perfect definition of a lyrically genius and intelligent rapper who can capture the dense subject matter of any story.

His debut album “Good Kidd, M.A.D.D. City” has every element of a best-selling novel.

In fact, RIAA classified it as a triple platinum which many have described as the work of a lyrical genius.

Plus, Dr. Dre doesn’t just work with any rapper, so is Lamar a genius?

Kendrick Lamar’s IQ

Lamar has never shared his IQ publicly, but many sources claim that it ranges between 120 and 130.

He has been placed on the same level as J Cole, another lyrical genius of our generation.

While Lamar doesn’t have the same IQ as Snoop Dogg, his lyrical prowess puts him above most rappers.

Even Snoop, a proven genius with an IQ of 147, has crowned him the “King of Los Angeles.”

We attribute his superior IQ to his intelligence and distinct talent. He is an honest and compelling storyteller who rarely compromises on his values or sound.

He may live a flashier life than J Cole, but he is still the greatest rapper of this decade.

Is Kendrick Lamar A Genius?

Before we even talk about his talent as a musician we can confirm that Lamar is a straight-A student who graduated high school in 2006.

He wanted to study astronomy and psychology but decided to bless us with some great songs which have paid off.

The lyrical genius is an exceptional storyteller whose success is well-deserved.

In fact, his successful career is a testament to a gifted and hardworking lyricist. He has made a name for himself by capturing our attention with his unique stories.

For instance, Lamar has broken various records with his debut album “Good Kidd, M.A.D.D. City.” Upon debut in 2012, it sold over 242,000 copies which was the highest of male rappers in that year. It was also the longest-charting rap album in history.

The 12-track album follows his troubles, traumas, pleasures, and perils while growing up. And the song that defines his intelligence is “Sing About Me, I’m Dying Of Thirst” the 10th song in the album.

The 12-minute-long track is a true story that takes us back to when he witnessed the murder of his pal.

He narrates the story from his pal’s elder brother’s perspective which wins the listeners’ hearts.

Lamar casts his listeners to the scene with his first verse. The elder brother even thanks Kendrick for holding his brother while he took his last breath.

You can’t be a high-achieving student and a chart-topping musician if you are not a genius.

After all, research carried out by Felicity Callard, a psychologist affiliated with London University, demonstrated that engaging in musical training has the potential to elevate an individual’s IQ score.

Anyway, whether or not you agree that Lamar is a genius, one thing is undeniable: his ability to craft engaging stories and captivate audiences with his lyrical prowess has solidified his place as one of the most talented artists of his generation.

Records Broken By Lamar

Lamar broke the record of the highest-grossing tour in 2022 when he surpassed Drake’s record of 929,000 tickets in 73 shows.

His tour titled “The Big Stepper Tour” grossed about $110.9 million which is the highest in history.

His album “Mr. Morale $ The Big Stepper” became the first rap album to exceed a billion Spotify streams in 2022.

He still continues to impress fans worldwide with his rhyming style and lyrics that break records.
