Despite not having any higher education academic credentials, Mwakideu got his first job at Baraka FM as a voice-over artist.
He was fortunate to work as a permanent staff from 2000 to 2010.
Radio Maisha employed him as a host in a show called ‘Maisha Asubuhi’ that aired every weekday from 6-10 AM.

Talented Actor
Apart from being a reputable radio host, Alex is a talented actor.
He started acting while in high school, but he decided to pursue it as a profession in 2021.
He was given a role as an actor (he appeared as a player Nairobi man called Clarence) in a Kenyan film called, ‘Nafsi’ released on November 5th, 2021, and was even streamed on Netflix.

In 2021, he also revealed that he and his former radio host, currently the MP for Langata constituency Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, were building several houses in Kitengela.
These houses were designed as AirBnB (Bed and Breakfast lodging business).
However, the state of that business venture is unclear regarding its progress.
Pampered Rides & Pampered Village
After Radio Maisha reduced his monthly salary by 50%, Alex was also wise enough to diversify his income sources which made him set up two businesses.
They include a restaurant called ‘Pampered Village,‘ which mainly serves exotic Swahili dishes, and a car wash, Pampered Village, in the same region, Kitengela.
However, he closed the two businesses early this year (January 2023). It is still not clear why he made the move or for how long the businesses will stay closed.
Ksh.1.6 million Birthday Tickets
His nationwide popularity was also highlighted when he managed to earn at least Ksh.1.6 million overnight from selling tickets to his birthday party on 6th March 2021.
A single entrance ticket was selling at Ksh.40,000.
Marketing Influencer
The radio host is a major marketing influencer for various corporate firms such as KCB bank, Norfolk Hotel, and Elevate lounge in Narok county, where he posts their adverts on his social media pages.
Although his net worth is unknown, it is estimated to be at least Ksh. 35million.
