Baraka FM is a Swahili radio station that broadcasts in the Coast region of Kenya.
It was founded in 1991, and was officially launched in 2000. It was the first urban radio headquartered in Mombasa Kenya.
Baraka FM targets an audience of both genders from the age group of 18 years to 35 years residing in rural, urban andsemi-urban parts of the Coastal region.
Over the years, the “Home of RnB and African Pop” has been the center for entertainment, information, news and education to all its listeners.
Here’s a list of the current top Baraka FM presenters.
Oscar Nyoha
He is a news anchor, presenter, and reporter. He studies at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication pursuing Journalism. He joined Baraka FM in September 2012.
He presents the Jopo la Kaunti radio program, a program that gives reports on current affairs in coastal counties, and airs every weekday from 7 pm to 8 pm.
He also presents the Chanja Maswala weekdays from 8pm to 9pm.
His zeal and dedication in his work have seen him receive several National Journalism Awards and Zimio Awards.
Lutfia Bakari
Lutfia is a reporter, presenter, and producer. She graduated from Mombasa Aviation Training Institute with a diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication.
She joined Baraka FM in January 2013 and currently hosts Mdobwedo Reloaded on Sundays from 4 pm to 8 pm.
She also hosts Mziki Mzuka that runs Monday through Friday starting from 10 am to 1 pm.
Callamah KBK
Callamah is a journalist, radio producer, and presenter. He co-hosts Mdobwedo Reloaded and Mziki Mzuka with Lutfia Bakari.
George Boateng
George Otieno is a CNN/Multichoice award-winning journalist.
He went to Mount Kenya University, where he pursued Communication and Media Studies, and later a Bachelor’s of Art in Communication.
He joined Baraka FM in April 2010 as a news anchor, news editor, reporter, translator, and show host.
He has earned many Award titles over the course of his career.
He currently hosts the Mega Breakfast show that runs from Monday to Friday, starting from 6 am to 10 am.
Triciah BB
She co-hosts the Mega Breakfast show with George ‘Boateng’ Otieno, and Pozi 254 that airs every Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm.
Lucas Mwangemi
Popularly known as Kiongozi, the hosts The Lane #327 show that airs every weekday from 3pm to 7pm.
Katiwa Maneeno
Popularly known as Madam Kiongozi, she co-host The lane #327 show with Lucas Mwangemi that airs from Monday to Friday starting 3pm to 7pm.
Victor
Kibamba Victor is a sports journalist and news reporter.
He studied Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism at the East African Institute of Certified Studies (ICS College).
Kibamba joined Baraka FM in June 2021, where he hosts Buruspoti on Saturdays starting 3pm to 8pm.
DJ Erick Bismarck
He is a Kenyan electronic DJ and producer. He co-hosts Buruspoti with Victor Kibamba on Saturdays from 3pm to 8pm, and Pozi 254 on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm.
Julius Mwashumbe
Mwashumbe co-hosts the Pozi 254 with Triciah BB and DJ Erick Bismarck every Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
Francis Mandi
Francis is an MC, drummer, award winning gospel presenter, and news anchor. He hosts the Tulizo, a gospel show that airs from Monday to Friday at 9pm to 12am.
Peter Kombe
He’s a journalist and midday news reader at Baraka FM.
